About the Role

We are seeking a Software Asset Consultant to oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of software assets across the organization. This role is essential for ensuring compliance with licensing agreements, optimizing software spend, and supporting vendor negotiations. You will work cross-functionally with IT, procurement, and finance to align software usage with corporate standards and licensing entitlements.

You’ll play a pivotal role in managing audit readiness, contract renewals, and usage optimization through best-in-class tools and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete software asset lifecycle, from procurement to retirement
• Track and ensure compliance with software license agreements
• Utilize tools such as Flexera, Snow, and ServiceNow SAM to monitor usage
• Lead or support software licensing audits with major vendors
• Collaborate with vendors to negotiate contracts and optimize licensing models
• Identify opportunities to reduce software spend through data-driven analysis
• Implement and maintain IT asset management (ITAM) best practices in line with ITIL
• Produce regular reports on software usage, compliance risks, and cost optimization
• Align licensing strategies with ISO standards and internal policies

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Software Asset Management (SAM) or IT asset-related roles
• Proficient with SAM tools such as:

  • Snow
  • ServiceNow SAM
• Strong knowledge of software license models and compliance (Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, etc.)
• Experience supporting or leading vendor software audits
• Familiarity with ITIL framework and best practices
• Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)

Desirable Qualifications & Skills

• Certifications such as ITIL, CSAM (Certified Software Asset Manager), or knowledge of ISO standards
• Experience with advanced analytics for software usage optimization
• Proven track record of cost-saving initiatives in software procurement
• Fluency in multiple EU languages is a plus
