Technical PMO - Netherlands

We are looking for a Central (Technical) PMO to support a large, cross-functional horizontal initiative. As part of this initiative, a new Tax Engine is being rolled out across multiple jurisdictions. The Central PMO will play a key role in structuring and overseeing the overall program, while supporting the Senior Program Leader in the effective execution of the initiative.

This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining the program structure, reporting, planning, and tracking progress across workstreams. A key focus will be on facilitating collaboration between teams, identifying and managing dependencies, and mitigating risks.

The Central PMO ensures that all team roadmaps and plans are aligned with agreed business priorities and strategies, and that delivery is tracked against shared objectives and key milestones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead independently on high-complexity, critical end-to-end (E2E) programs.

  • Drive a clear vision and structure for the initiative, aligning on business objectives, scope, requirements, and success criteria.

  • Develop and maintain planning documents, roadmaps, and dependency management tools across all teams and departments.

  • Provide regular updates on program status and progress, escalating risks and issues to governance groups or relevant team members as needed.

  • Enable teams and leaders to make informed decisions and support them in prioritization efforts.

  • Collaborate proactively with all program stakeholders to ensure alignment, unblock work, and minimize risk.

  • Identify opportunities to improve internal and external customer experience, business outcomes, and partner engagement, translating insights into actionable business cases.

  • Partner with Business Units, Corporate, and Functional leadership to ensure optimal resource allocation aligned with headcount and P&L constraints.

  • Promote and implement project management best practices across the department.

  • Support the annual strategic planning and budgeting process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; a relevant master’s degree or certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) is a plus.

  • Proven experience as a PMO or Program Manager in complex, cross-functional, and technical environments.

  • Strong knowledge of project and program management methodologies and tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder environments, including senior leadership.

  • Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and risk management capabilities.

  • Comfortable operating independently with limited supervision.
