Senior Manager, Business Continuity & Resilience

A global leader in the online travel and technology industry is seeking a Senior Lead in Business Continuity Management (BCM) to join its Group Security and Resilience function. This high-impact role is instrumental in translating business continuity strategy and planning into tangible outcomes that protect people, partners, operations, and assets across the organization.

This position is part of the second line of defense and is key to embedding a culture of resilience throughout the company. It requires hands-on support in daily security operations, crisis response, and disaster recovery initiatives. The ideal candidate will be adept at building foundational BCM elements and driving maturity of the program in line with international standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop & Implement BCM Programs: Lead the introduction and initial implementation of business continuity frameworks across the business, influencing leadership to adopt and invest in resilient practices.

  • Enterprise Risk & Impact Analysis: Conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIA) and Risk Assessments, identifying critical operations and aligning them with continuity strategies.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong formal and informal networks across the organization to promote program adoption and resilience culture.

  • Strategic Program Execution: Drive the execution of the global business continuity roadmap, including operational resilience, IT disaster recovery, and crisis management.

  • Governance & Compliance: Support compliance efforts, enhance governance structures, and align the program with ISO 22301 and NIST guidelines.

  • Continuous Improvement: Benchmark industry best practices to enhance the program, leveraging insights from processes, systems, and external data.

  • Training & Awareness: Deliver training, workshops, and exercises to business units, raising awareness and preparedness for disruptive events.

  • Incident Response: Participate in crisis and incident management activities, including being part of an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.

  • Third-Party Risk Management: Assess and review the business continuity practices of key third-party vendors and partners.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience: Minimum 4+ years developing and implementing BCM programs in complex, decentralized environments—preferably within the tech industry.

  • Disaster Recovery Expertise: Strong knowledge of IT disaster recovery planning and execution is essential.

  • Certifications: Professional certification in business continuity (e.g., DRII, BCI) is a strong advantage.

  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively in high-pressure, fast-moving environments.

  • Stakeholder Influence: Proven ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams globally.

  • Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with BC management systems like Riskonnect, ServiceNow, or similar tools.

  • Technical Competency: Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and adaptable to new technologies.

  • Crisis Management: Experience in crisis or major incident response; cybersecurity knowledge is a plus.

  • Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, tailored to diverse audiences.
