Due to business growth and expansion, the team in Birmingham is being strengthened with an experienced and proactive Commercial Underwriter. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to help shape the future direction and growth of the business.
Role
As a Fleet Commercial Underwriter working in the Birmingham Branch, you’ll help drive and transform broker portfolios interactions, through responsive, flexible, and collaborative relationships. With a strong balance of technical and trading capability, you’ll be empowered to make decisions, supported by data, insight, and decision support tools on mobile technology to succeed.
The role provides the opportunity to continuous development of technical kills, to build and shape a dynamic career that that utilises the latest technology and takes advantage of tailored training and planning.
Hybrid working - at least 60% of your week away from home, at office location in Birmingham, visiting clients or attending industry events.
Skills/Attributes Required
- Experience of working in a Fleet underwriting environment be that with an insurer or a broker is preferred.
- Technical underwriting expertise.
- Strong trading capability, commercial awareness, and expert negotiation skills.
- Ability to build excellent broker relationships and a sound understanding of the current commercial insurance market.
- Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate an open-minded and curious approach, working collaboratively to challenge the status quo and adapt to customer and market needs.
