New Business Broker (RDT301)
Location: Greater Manchester
Salary: basic plus OTE £60k +
Role Responsibilities
- New Business Broker with Commercial Lines experience in all SME product classes to provide first class service to clients.
- Manage diverse policies such as property, liability, commercial combined, motor fleet, travel/personal accident, construction, marine, cyber liability, management liability, excess layers etc for clients from a wide range of industries.
- Prepare compliant records and documentation, invoices, quotation forms, clients’ registers and all other administration as required in a manner that compiles with the office and compliance procedures.
- Ensure all business is placed with approved insurers.
- Receive and act promptly on instructions from clients and management.
- Ensure avoidance of E&O Claims.
- Assist in identification and development of profitable sales opportunities, expansion of services to increase client’s overall protection and achievement of the business plan and budget.
- Proactively respond to all queries in a timely, positive and professional manner.
- To build and maintain an excellent rapport with clients, providers and colleagues across the company.
- To suggest opportunities to help generate business within existing book of clients.
Skills/Experience
- Commercial Insurance experience is essential and an understanding of SME product classes (Combined, Cargo, Fleet, Liability, PI, MLP etc).
- Good understanding of insurance broking, including data protection, money laundering, law of agency, law of contract and principles of insurance.
- Candidates need to be proactive and willing to learn, with a positive outlook, adaptable to change and demonstrate honesty and integrity required for a financially regulated organisation.
- IT literate (intermediate skills with Microsoft Windows packages).
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), attention to detail and time management skills plus good planning, organizational and time management skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with the Acturis system would be desirable but not essential.
