Project Leader, Software & Algorithms

Job Description

  • Senior leadership role covering a substantial share of the technical scope at a deeptech semiconductor metrology scaleup
  • Eindhoven, The Netherlands
  • Hybrid work allowed (at least 3 days in office)
  • Competitive salary + bonus & employee stock option plan

Invisix is building cutting edge, next generation semiconductor metrology technology using short wavelength light sources. This is a critical hire: the Software & Algorithms Project Leader owns the planning and delivery of a significant software and algorithm development activity, from roadmap through execution, across a substantial share of the company's total technical output.

This is more than a process management role. You will need the technical credibility to lead teams of physicists and software engineers, coordinate tightly with other project leaders and architects, and report directly to the executive team on progress and risk. The role carries both programme and line management responsibilities, and will naturally evolve into a programme management position as the company scales.

Reporting to the Head of R&D, Eindhoven-based with a hybrid working pattern allowed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own analysis software and algorithms development, ensuring it stays aligned with company milestones
  • Understand and guide technical content, including at least high-level understanding of complex algorithms under development
  • Effectively manage triple constraints on time, scope, and budget.
  • Generate an accurate project budget and keep spending on track, in collaboration with finance
  • Negotiate priorities and resource allocation with other project leaders and senior leadership team
  • Lead hiring within the domain, including CV screening and candidate assessment via interviews
  • Execute line management activities for the software and algorithms teams (onboarding, coaching, development, and progress reviews)
  • Report on technical progress and risks to the executive team and, where relevant, to customers

About You:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline such as computer science, computational physics, or applied mathematics; or a Master's degree combined with substantial hands-on experience in a comparable environment
  • Background spanning both software development and algorithm or physics-based work, with the ability to engage credibly with specialists in both areas
  • Experience bringing software engineers and physicists together to do their best work collaboratively
  • 5+ years’ experience managing sizeable technical teams in a senior leadership capacity
  • Experience in a programme or project leadership role within a technology scaleup or large engineering organisation, for example in the semiconductor, high-tech instrumentation or precision optics sectors
  • A track record of moving into leadership through technical contribution, having worked as an individual contributor before taking on management responsibility
  • Experience in both a project leadership and a line management capacity preferred
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and adapting as priorities evolve

Benefits:

  • Employee Share Ownership Plan
  • Learning and development budget to support your professional growth
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • The opportunity to build something from scratch, in a company where your work will have real and visible impact
  • The opportunity to grow along with our organization as a key member of our leadership team

Invisix Measuring Systems

Semiconductor manufacturers can't build what they can't measure. At Invisix, we're solving one of the most technically demanding problems in chip manufacturing: reconstructing the detailed 3D geometry of the most advanced next-generation devices.

Founded by two ASML veterans with deep roots in short wavelength metrology, we've spent years de-risking this technology. Now we're building the team to bring it to market. If you love to take ownership, collaborate closely with innovators who care deeply about their contributions, and want your work to matter at the frontier of what's physically possible, this is the place to be.
