Job Description

Our client is currently recruiting for LE1 Linesmen to work on their UKPN Overhead contract 

The LE1 Linesman will work as part of a 2 or 3 person team changing poles and transformers reporting to a Project Manager. 

 

Duties will include: 

  • A key part of an Overhead Line team to erect poles, change transformers and carry out any other overhead line work that may be required. Acquire, maintain and develop own competence in accordance with legislative changes and customer requirements. 

  • Work as part of a team to ensure the safe, effective and efficient implementation of Freedom’s operations. 

  • Maintain awareness of and conform to Freedom’s SHEQ policy and issued safety instructions. 

  • Maintain site safety at all times. 

  • Conform to all instructions stated in method statements and risk assessments. 

  • Report any concerns regarding SHEQ to the SHEQ team and your manager.Complete all work to high standards. 

  • Maintain in good working order issued vehicles, tools and equipment 

 

Requirements: 

  • Practical experience of Overhead Lines wood pole works up to 33kV. 

  • Any UK authorisation certification including receive PTW up to 11kV and live working LV 

  • Full driving licence including towing trailers 

  • A strong understanding of DNO operations and safety rules; 

  • Previous experience of working on Wood House Mast Structures is preferred; 

  • MEWP certificate; 

  • Pole top rescue certificate. 

  • First aid at work; 

  • A HGV license would be advantageous but not essential. 

 

Rates/Hours 

  • LE1 £20.25 per hour 

  • Unreceipted lodge payment of £50 per day 

  • 45 hour week
