Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Audit Manager to join a leading professional services firm specialising in accounting, audit, tax, and advisory services. This role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse client portfolio, support senior leadership, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality audit engagements. You will play a key role in overseeing audits, developing team members, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and deliver audit assignments from initial planning through to completion
- Ensure audits are conducted in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g. UK GAAP and IFRS)
- Review audit files, financial statements, and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and resource allocation
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong professional relationships
- Liaise with Partners and senior stakeholders on audit progress, risks, and technical matters
- Provide high-quality professional advice and ensure excellent client service delivery
- Provide technical guidance on audit and accounting matters
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal audit methodologies
- Identify opportunities to enhance audit processes, efficiency, and quality
- Supervise, coach, and mentor junior team members
- Review work and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Support internal training and development initiatives
- Support the growth of the audit practice through strong client relationships and service delivery
- Assist with proposals, tenders, and new business opportunities
