Job Description
A proactive and detail-oriented individual is sought to join the Tax Compliance team in a senior role. This position is ideal for someone with experience preparing tax returns who is interested in developing leadership skills and supporting the development of junior colleagues.
You will be responsible for a portfolio of personal, trust, and corporate tax returns, perform technical calculations, review the work of junior staff, and support the preparation of financial statements. This is a hands-on role within a collaborative team, providing both compliance services and ad hoc support across related business functions.
- Prepare Isle of Man and UK personal, corporate, and trust tax returns to a high standard and within deadlines.
- Review tax returns prepared by trainees, offering feedback and ensuring quality.
- Support the preparation of Inheritance Tax returns, including 10-year charge calculations, UK ATED and VAT returns where applicable, and stockpiled gains and relevant income computations.
- Liaise directly with clients and third parties regarding tax matters and information requests.
- Monitor filing deadlines and help ensure timely client correspondence.
- Keep up-to-date with IOM and UK tax legislation and share knowledge with colleagues.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to trainees and junior staff.
- Assist with onboarding and training new team members.
- Contribute to the improvement and automation of internal processes.
- Provide assistance with company secretarial duties, estate administration and executorship, and other compliance and administrative support.
- Assist with bookkeeping and basic accounting for clients.
- Gain experience in financial statement preparation and reconciliation.
- Ensure tax and financial records are aligned and accurate.
