Job: Preservation Engineer / Preservation Lead
Reports Directly To: Project Construction and Commissioning Manager
Reports Functionally To: PF HQ Commissioning

Objectives :
▪ Involved from procurement phase of the project and ensure that vendor’s preservation procedures are clear and understood. He shall develop Preservation matrix for vendor specific preservation requirement for all project equipment during the procurement phase of the project (bridging the vendors recommendations with PF standard procedures).
▪ Responsible to monitor preservation activities (performed in collaboration with construction contractor(s) responsible for the preservation of project equipment and bulk material supplied by the company), from the delivery to site until the installation and commissioning phase of the project.

Activities
▪ Ensure General Preservation check sheets (ITRs) are adequate in-line with the type of equipment and material of the project. Create new Preservation ITRs are required as per project requirement in consultation with Commissioning Manager, Site QC Manager and Commissioning SME.
▪ To identify specifical preservation material (e.g. VPCI, Preservation Oil etc.) from vendor’s preservation instructions and raise purchase request to project sourcing team. Keep track of purchase order raised for special preservation consumables and ensure timely handed over to sub-contractor.
▪ Inspection of equipment or modules or skids prior to shipment from vendor workshop and on receipt at site warehouse lay down area, for the condition of initial preservation done by vendor and to record the initial preservation found on receipt.
▪ Provide the preservation execution procedures to the construction contractor (execution to be done under PTW system)
▪ Ensure that all equipment is preserved as per vendor instruction and preservation checks applicable as per project preservation procedure and ITRs followed by handing over to commissioning well preserved.
▪ Focus more on preservation of critical rotating equipment packages such as compressor and Turbines or any turbo-machinery ensuring vendor’s preservation are strictly followed to maintain warranty requirement.
▪ Monitor preservation of bulk items like valves, flanges, stud bolts, temporary spools, pipe spools, gaskets, etc. and ensure that sub-contactor to maintain preservation records.
▪ Ensure that all preserved equipment is tagged with a specified preservation tag duly filled with details such as type of preservation applied, date and name of the person.
▪ Report to warehouse coordinator and site QC Manager for any defect or deterioration of the material found at the time of receipt.
▪ Ensure that the construction contractor(s) responsible for the preservation of the company supplied equipment/material, has all necessary
preservation consumables and general tools available. (e.g. Nitrogen, General preservation oil and corrosion protection sprays etc. )
▪ Ensure that respective MSDS (Material Safety Data sheet) are followed for safe use of special preservation materials(e.g. VPCI products)
